Planet Coffee recently started carrying a selection of gluten-free goodies which, I must say, really warms my heart. The last time I visited, they had cookies by B. Goods, as well as brownies and peanut butter chocolate squares by a different baker. The staff didn't know the name of the other bakery off-hand, but they told me the squares are baked in a dedicated GF facility. They were also individually wrapped, which is handy. The cookies are not baked in a dedicated facility, so eat at your own discretion.
Over the course of two visits, I sampled both a black bean brownie and an orange-hazelnut cookie. I was sceptical about the 'black bean' part of the brownie, but it was actually really good! Maybe even a little healthy? (Wishful thinking over here) The brownie tasted more like a cross between fudge and a brownie than a true brownie. But, it wasn't overpoweringly sweet like fudge. In fact, it had a nice subtle sweetness and a texture that melted in my mouth. Very tasty. I will be back for more! The orange-hazelnut cookie is a long-standing favourite of mine, and this one did not disappoint. Lots of big hazelnut
chunks and chewy insides. So tasty.
